The business activities of Fuji Electric Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "FAP") involve the provision of products and services relating to the establishment of social and industrial infrastructure. In order to ensure that the conduct of its employees and the way in which it carries out these activities comply strictly with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (hereinafter referred to as “PDPA”), and in an effort to strengthen the relationship of trust between FAP and society as it seeks to fulfill its social responsibility, FAP handles personal information in accordance with the following privacy policy.

  1. 1. FAP complies strictly with the PDPA and related subsidiary legislation, rules, regulations, ordinances and guidelines promulgated by the government when handling, as part of its business activities, personal information and the personal information of its employees.
  2. 2. FAP undertakes to establish management systems for the protection of personal information and to ensure that these systems function properly while continuously improving them.
  3. 3. FAP will clearly specify the intended use (the purpose) and obtain your permission before collecting your personal information, and will use such information only to the extent necessary for achieving the stated purpose. In the course of providing products and services, FAP may collect personal information, including but not limited to, the following:

  3. 1.3 From individuals at trade and business partners:
    1. 1) In the case of individuals: identity and contact data, such as name, date of birth, residential address, email address, phone number.
    2. 2) In the case of corporate entities: information on individuals, such as information on directors and shareholders (including but not limited to their personal information).
  4. 1.4 From individuals seeking recruitment:
    1. 1) Identity and contact data, such as name, date of birth, residential address, email address, phone number.

2. Use of Personal Information

When collecting personal information, FAP clearly specifies the intended use of the information (the purpose), and uses the information only to the extent necessary for achieving this purpose. If the need arises to use your personal information beyond the extent necessary for achieving the initially stated purpose, FAP will notify you and obtain your permission before proceeding. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, FAP may use personal information for the following purposes:-

  1. 2.1 Personal information of customers is used:
    1. 1) In order to ship or forward products;
    2. 2) To inform customers about products, services, and exhibitions and other events;
    3. 3) To provide service and maintenance;
    4. 4) To respond to inquiries and other consultations;
    5. 5) To issue materials related to products and services;
    6. 6) To enable FAP to carry out and enforce contracts; and
    7. 7) To facilitate business talks, meetings, communications and other such activities.

    1. 1) To perform processing and procedures necessary when carrying out work for government and other public bodies; and
    2. 2) To facilitate communications, reports and inquires directed to government and other public bodies.
  3. 2.3 Personal information of individuals at trade and business partners is used:
    1. 1) To facilitate communications and business talks related to business transactions;
    2. 2) To facilitate the management of information regarding trade and business partners;and
    3. 3) To facilitate accounting and bookkeeping procedures such as payments.
  4. 2.4 Personal information of individuals seeking recruitment is used:
    1. 1) To contact individuals and to provide information regarding recruitment; and
    2. 2) To facilitate recruitment activities.
  5. 2.5 Personal information of retired/resigned individuals is used:
    1. 1) To contact individuals following retirement/resignation.
  6. 2.6 Personal information caught by security camera is used:
    1. 1) For crime-prevention and safety control in our business offices.

3. Disclosure of Personal Information

FAP will not disclose personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

  1. 1) When you have granted permission for FAP to do so;
  2. 2) When disclosure of such information is necessary to protect human lives, to prevent injury or suffering, or to protect property, even when permission for such use is not readily forthcoming from you;
  3. 3) When legally required to do so;
  4. 4) When entrusting the use of personal information to a third party to the extent that this is necessary to achieve the stated purpose. In such circumstances, FAP takes responsibility for appropriately monitoring the use of such personal information by the third party; and
  5. 5) If all or part of FAP' business activities are transferred to another party due to corporate mergers, corporate separations, the sale or transfer of operations, or other reasons.

4. Requests relating to Personal Information

FAP will respond promptly to requests relating to personal information from you personally or from your duly appointed representative. Subject to applicable laws, such requests include those for the 1) notification of the intended use of personal information, 2) disclosure of and access to your personal information retained by FAP, 3) correction, addition, or deletion of personal information, and 4) cessation of use, purge, or cessation of disclosure to third parties of personal information.

FAP will respond to requests relating to disclosure of and access to your personal information retained by FAP (hereinafter referred to as an “Access Request”) as soon as reasonably possible from the time which the Access Request is received. Where FAP is unable to respond to an Access Request within 30 days, FAP will inform the requester in writing within 30 days of the time by which FAP will be able to respond to the Access Request.

FAP reserves the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee for any viewing of your personal information as permitted by applicable laws.
